Michael Collins is a Certified Public Accountant and award winning columnist writing for The Mountain Press, since 2013.  He is an active member of the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants as well as the Society of Professional Journalists and was recently honored with a Golden Press Card Award for his columns appearing markets of under 25,000 readers.

In addition to maintaining multiple blogs he is a an investor in cryptocurrency and maintains the Crypto Tax Center to share what he has learned about the income tax implications of investing, holding and spending Bitcoin and other alternative cryptocurrencies.

He is a graduate of the Haslam College of Business at The University of Tennessee and was a five-year member of the faculty of The Becker CPA Review until 2012 back when “classes were still taught live.”
